Yes Saradomin has a dark side at times, a lot of times, although you bring up an interesting point about the wilderness which was part of Zaros's empire at some point. Notice how it was a paradise when Zaros was in control and now it is a barren wasteland? This points to evidence of Zaros having been a lot more benevolent than Zamorak. Also gold, how did you get that screenshot? Now back to what I was saying, as for Guthix it may even be that he was planning to die in order to allow Zaros to return anyway as for all we know Zaros may have allied himself with Guthix a bit.

Really, Forinthity was a paradise? I wonder how you know that...who told you?
Benevolent isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe Zamorak....I'd more use it to support Saradomin. Zamorak respects and rewards strength. If you're someone who wants to be babied, Zamorak is not for you.
Guthix told us that he died because he didn't want gods in the world at all, including himself. He also wanted to die out of grief for his people (and daughter) killed millenia earlier. He didn't die to bring a god back in.
Zaros, from what I'v \e learnt, was, best way to describe him, as manipulative and Machiavellian. If it suited his purposes to be benevolent, he could be. If not, then...
And to which screenshot were you referring?

Zaros believed in the balance of good and evil yes but thats as far as his similarities to Guthix went. If something happened he did not like he would ruin that balance to fix it and he wanted pure control of everything which is the way he saw balance.

Erm...where did you learn that Zaros wanted balance? From what I can tell, he didn't care one way or another.

On his wiki, direct quote below, Zaros wants the world to fall to mortals, like Guthix, but he acknowledges that they are not safe without some rules or control; otherwise, everything will fall to chaos. So, he suggests that he watches silently, making checks and balances to ensure 'balance' is maintained. He wishes to become fate itself, and control the life of the mortals.

Keep in mind, balance to him is directly against what Guthix believed about balance. Guthix believed that gods, by their very nature and presence disrupt the balance.

Indeed and i do not plan to follow zaros which is why i think both zammorak and saradomin are stupid for fighting. Knowing that Zaros could return they should prepare to fight him together seeing as how zaros is so immensely powerful that if he was to get the staff from sliske he would be unbeatable by the joint effort of the gods even now.

Stood on Lumbridge castle walls with the orb of occulus in the HTML5 beta.
Well, Zaros is less powerful then he was now, he's tier 3 now, just like Zamorak and Saradomin.

but what if he regains his original power somehow? then who is to stop him? surely without saradomin and zamorak working together zaros cannot be defeated if he regains it.

Erm...where did you learn that Zaros wanted balance? From what I can tell, he didn't care one way or another. Zaros' not caring one way or another is what makes him appeal to me... I must say that I've been intrigued by his mysteriousness and evasiveness, allowing his followers to do his work for him. I will not openly follow him yet, but I am eager to meet him. It seems as though he likes to see how the "enemies" (for lack of a more fitting term) will move before making his own move.
