Mitch, to correct you here, Monotheistic religions are a minority among the religions of the world. They are primarily an invention of the last few thousand years, 2 thousand in the case of Christianity and about 1500 years in the case of islam and only Judaism is older than that. However you are correct that monotheistic religions are a majority in the world, but not by that much, and the third biggest religion is a polytheistic religion, Hinduism. Well i meant among the big 7 religions of the world, monotheism is very prevalent, but polytheistic religions shouldn't be discredited

Mitch-
I suppose the closest denomination would be Modern Orthodox, though I don't personally think I fall into any set group.
In terms of # of religions, monotheism is a minority. In terms of amount of people following those religions, monotheism is a majority.
And there are two forms of Buddhism, with one believing in the divinity of Budah. I believe (and I haven't studied it thoroughly, so I'm not 100% certain) that that form is also a monotheistic religion.

It is true. Dude, we have "in god we trust" on ALL our money. THAT'S against the Constitution too. Well no; If it said 'In Jesus Christ we trust', it'd be unconstitutional. All religions have a god, just by their own names. It's still a tender subject lol What about those who don't believe? Their right to is my right from, which makes it unconstitutional.

Is it really bothering the people who don't belove that on the money it says "In God we Trust"? Is it preventing them from using it?

Gold that is beside the point. Religion has no place in our government in any form, which stems from the belief of separation of church and state. However, is absence of belief a form of belief? personally I don't think it is. Atheism is no religion, it is the lack of religion which I believe leads me to say that when it comes to religious arguments, we need to shut the hell up because we aren't involved ( speaking as an atheist most of the time) Leave the petty religious arguments to the petty religious believers ;p However, just because it doesn't hurt us to have religious iconography on national things, like money, it still should not be there. The only reason it is there is because this country was founded by rich, white, mostly Christian dudes and they continue to be the majority of those running it. Also consider that when the treasury began printing that money it was relatively unheard of to not believe in Christianity's god in this country and non Christians are still a minority here.
Now as to whether it is against the constitution? doubtful. It isn't any specific religious thing, just a generic reference to god and you will notice that the constitution protects the right to religious freedom. atheism isn't a religion, you have no right to be an atheist in this country. Also, the right to religious freedom is not the right to be free of religion.

I question God all to often to even think about debating my beliefs with someone else. I am a strong believing Roman Catholic though for reasons that would take books to talk about.
