Recent studies show that some people may not know how to take screenshots, upload and post them on the forums. This is (obviously) a situation we need to remedy, and therefor I made a little beginners guide:
Sharing pictures is fun, but for beginners it might be a hazzle!
So how does one go about when first getting into the picture-bizz?
Step 1: Take the picture
-By using the software "Snipping Tool" (located on your pc: Start->All Programs->Accessories->Snipping Tool) you can easily snap a picture of whats currently going on on your pc-screen!
Step 2: Uploading the picture to the interwebzzz!
There are many sites who let you upload pictures. The one I have the most experience with, and can recommend, is "Photobucket".
Before you can upload any pictures, you'll have to create a photobucket account (its free, so no worries):
How to create a PB (photobucket*) account:
And VOILAA, your account is created and the uploading may begin!
Step 3: Actually uploading the picture ;D
-At the top of the photobucket site (when you're logged in), you see a button saying "Upload". <<<--- Click on it!
- Now you should see a big square box with the text "Drag 'n Drop your Photos and Videos"
You can either:
- Locate your picture on your pc, and drag the file into the big square-box on photobucket
or
-click on the "browse" button in the big square-box, and go through your folders via that, and locate your picture that way.
When you have located & chosen / dragged 'n Dropped the picture-file into the big square-box thingy on the PB site, you're ready to upload it, it should start uploading automaticly.
-Click on the picture which will show up under the big square-box thingy.
Step 4: Posting the picture on the forums!
-When you've clicked on the picture, you should be able to see a panel on the lower right side saying "ImageLinks".
From this panel, click on the text saying "Direct Link"
Should look like this:
Clicking on the text "direct link" automaticly copies the link, which is what you need to paste into the forum-post you want the image to appear in.
ENTER the FORUMZ![/size]
- Open a new post wherever you want to post the picture.
-When you have located a place (like inbetween two text-lines or wherever you want the image to appear in the post),
you have to click on the "Insert Image" above the row of smileys over the text-input box you fill out when making the post.
This should make "{img}{/img}" appear into the text-box. click inbetween the two "img-boxes" and paste the image-link into the post.
(Note: the actual HTML-code uses [], not {}, so ignore the difference in this guide)
Should look like this:
-Finish the post and wait for the applause!
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this matter.
