This Sunday, I plan to take the clan to go hunt the legendary wolves Hati and Skoll. They are both quite high levels, although much easier to kill then their levels would suggest, especially in teams (which there probably will be, even without our clan).
Hati
Requirements to fight: none
Level: 654
LP: 20,000
Attack Styles: Magic and Melee
Max Hits: Melee-244 Magic-367
How to get there:
Hati is found in the Eastern Fremmenik Province. In order to begin the fight with Hati, you must talk to the "Fremmenik Citizen" just by the gates of Relleka.
To get there, you can use a (Relleka) House teleport Tablet (if your house is there) or the Magic Lyre, in addition to simply running. However the method we will be using, and probably the best/easiest, will be to talk to the "Wolf Hunter" in Gunnarsgrunn (Barbarian Village) who will freely teleport you to Relleka's gates for a limited number of times. Once there, after everyone has talked to the "Citizen" we will begin to hunt for Hati. While hunting Hati, it is recommended to have Protect from Magic on.
The Fight:
Hati will attack with both melee and magic. The recommended setup is:
Bring your best melee gear (stat boosting pots are recommended, but not needed, Prayer pots are recommended if you have less than 70 or so prayer) and food, and use the Protect from Magic prayer. With this activated, Hati will very seldom do more than 100 damage with his magic attack, which is multi-targeted. His melee attack is less accurate and only targets one person, so isn't as much of a worry. If you do get unlucky and die, your grave WILL be blessed, so you should be able to get back for your items easily.
The Rewards
Anyone who participates in the fight, doing any amount of damage, has an approximately 80% chance of receiving a cosmetic Hati Hood and Cloak, as well as a pair of Hati Paws which will double any Attack, Strength, Defence, Constitution, Magic or Ranged xp you get while wearing them for a set amount of time depending on your level in the skill being trained.
If anyone in our clan does not get the rewards on first kill, we will stay and kill it again till the full rewards are received by everyone.
Once we are done with Hati, we will move on to his brother, Skoll.
Skoll
Requirements to fight: a Hatchet (toolbelt hatchet will work)
Level: 672
Lp: 20,000
Attack Styles: Magic, Melee, Special Attack (more info below)
Max Hits: Magic+Melee-267 Spec-700
How to get there:
To fight Skoll, you must go west from the gate of Relleka, and speak to "Vitharr", who will explain about Skoll and tell you how to fight it.
Once, you are at the right place, Skoll, unlike his brother, must be summoned. In order to do this, 120 logs must be added to the bonfire (in the beginning this will be just a large burnt spot on the ground). This is done in a team (120 logs total, not each).
Once 120 logs have been added, Skoll will appear slightly to the east of the bonfire.
The Fight:
The fight against Skoll has pretty much the same strategy as the one against Hati, best melee gear and Protect Magic, However. it is slightly harder, with a greatly increased risk of dying due to his special attack:
Skoll will summon four meteors from the sky, in a square formation, with one at each corner, around him. Before they fall, you will see quickly darkening and widening shadows in the spots where they will be. When you see these shadows, run out of the area enclosed by them (in which Skoll will be in the center of). When they fall, a fire cage will surround Skoll, and anyone else next to him, trapping you there. A short while after, everyone inside will be hit for up to 700 damage, although it usually hits for around 500.
Skoll will do this right at the beginning of the battle, so MOVE AWAY from Skoll when he first appears. He will then do this randomly throughout the rest of the battle. You must pay attention to the ground and other players (if they move away, so should you) to ensure you don't get hit by this.
He can also summon 3 level 70 Fenris wolves during the battle to attack players, these do not have to be killed to get the rewards however.
Again, if you die while fighting either of the two wolves, you WILL have your grave blessed, which should hive you plenty of time to get back and retrieve your items.
The Rewards
Anyone who participates in the fight, doing any amount of damage, has an approximately 80% chance of receiving a pair of "Skoll Boots', which will double any Agility or Woodcutting experience you get while wearing them for a set amount of time depending on your level in the skill being trained.
If anyone in our clan does not get the rewards on first kill, we will stay and kill it again till the full rewards are received by everyone.
And that's it! Congratulations, you have just killed the legendary wolves of Winter and Summer!
(Don't worry, you will still be able to fight them again next year to get the rewards again)
Disclaimer: No wolves were harmed in the making of this guide.
