Good or Evil?

Here's my debateful question to you Jedi. Are Humans naturally good or evil? Also, explain the origin of Humanity as in, say you said we were naturally evil. You reply to support your statement like this: Humans were once good, but we soon got driven into Evil.

Naturally? no. Naturally we are born as instinctive animals. You see a toddler reaching with its arms to touch every possible thing it can. That's instinct. If it touches something that causes pain, it knows not to touch it again. Instincts such as this are things that we are born with. But the concepts of good or evil? No. We are taught how to be good or evil through example of society, mainly from our own parents. Since all instinctive animals are neutral, I vote for neutral.

be even at birth we seduced to evil. overall if you look at the worlds history theres mostly evil in this world. racism, prejudice slavery,WW1,WW2, the cold war, the Korean wars the genocides of the Jews and many other cultures today. there may be good but mostly the evil is still in control of us. funny thing is we can change it but we dint. some of us do but thats not enough if a half full of ppl do this.

I believe that we are Neutral. I believe that God created us to be his good followers. Unfortunately, Satan's temptation on our ancestors worked and we are cursed with Eternal Sin. I believe that we alter our own paths. We believe what we believe and we do what we believe. Like say your friend gets hurt, like falling/slipping and lands on a floor. We laugh and maybe one of us would eventually ask if our friend's okay. That is a true sign of evil of how we take joy of seeing other's pain. But I also believe some others care more than others, with that I conclude that I believe we are neutral and will choose our own paths.

remmy, all of those conflicts were cause by adults that were taught their ways. racism is taught. slavery was taught. there was no good or bad side to the cold war. sure the holocaust was really bad, but it was committed by someone who was born as a completely fresh slate, like you and me.

I think we human are born into the world as neutral (the innocence of a child). God, or whoever made us, gave us free mind so we could make our own descissions. No I do not think there are a "good" or a "bad" side, altough, som people's actions makes them very good candidates for each side.

'good' and 'evil' are concepts made up by humans. It is everyones perceptions of things. You think Hitler thought what he was doing was evil? I really doubt it, despite most others thinking it was.

I think humans are neither good nor evil or even neutral naturally. Such CONCEPTS are not "natural" as it is everyone makes their own choice how they are.

Concepts of Good and Evil are not but words created by human society to describe ones opinion on another's actions. The concepts are taught to us by those who came before us, IE our parents, our teachers, our elders. Human nature in itself is not but Instinct. If you were to shoot Hitler in the head most people of today would view that as a good deed, but his followers in Germany would view you as an evil person. When we come out kicking and screaming from our mothers womb, we know not of the troubles of the world, we only know that its cold out here and there are many strange sounds to be heard. We are born Neutral.

you guys are all right. but then why do we go down the evil path if good and evil have the strength of pull on one man/woman why do we mostly follow the dark path?

Because...whoever raises us teaches us things...If we're still young when our teacher dies, we'll get a new teacher with new lessons for us to be taught. There's also peer pressure or you feel insecure and want to look "cool". Like smoking, smoking can basically lead to Lung Cancer which makes you kill yourself. God said in His Ten Commandments "Thy Shalt Not Kill". People smoke to look cool, they die from the things they chose to do, and is basically kinda like suicide. We alter our own paths, but it doesn't mean it can't be influenced to go to a different one...

Odd, my literature teacher asked my class this just the other day! :-P
But I think that all people are born in a neutral state, because God has given them the free will to decide which path they will take

its quiet simple, humans are born, like every thing else, and since it it just started, it cannot be either, actions will determine what the offspring will be.... will it be taut evil or good? it all depends on who is in its life, and shows passion towards it, that is the only way it may be, any thing else would unbalance the world
