Do you think it's real? How do you feel about it? Let's discuss this theory.

Yeah it is real, but I rather call it by its real name... weather. Just the earth going through cycles like it always had, mars is currently having its average temperature go up a whole degree too, and we sure aren't doing that with a little metal...

Atleast some people in the world have common sense now. I'm with you 110% Ewoks

I've been debating this issue with a bunch of my friends lately.
Like Ewoks, I think global warming is a load of crap made up by some scientist and projected by the media. Global warming is a natural process.
If you research global warming, the definition of it is "a rise in the average temperature of the earth". Well that rise sure has been evident with this cold winter we've had so far. Especially Las Vegas getting their 3.5" of snow and being down in the upper 20's to low 30's. (BTW-That was sarcasm).
Also like Ewoks said, global warming is a cycle in the earth. If anything, the temperature might be increasing because of the gravitational pull of the sun. There are a few theories out there that the sun is so large, it's gravitational pull is slowly, as in like 1" every million years or whatever, pulling our solar system into itself. The Sun is also a star so it will eventually either blow up or turn into a black hole.
Regardless, it won't happen for another couple million years so we have nothing to worry about.

It was -41 degrees where I am last Saturday (-52 degrees with windchill)... We had a 36 day stretch of temperatures below -30 degrees. I'm going to go against the grain here and say, Yes, I do believe global warming is happening. There is evidence that the temperature is going up. Whether or not its as a result of natural earth warming and cooling cycles, or I've heard some theories that This: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomagnetic_reversalMight be causing the increase in temperatures go up, as well as cancer rates. Only thing that is being conclusively proven is that the earths atmospheric composition has been changed as a result of human industrial activity, and related or not, average earth wide temperature has gone up. On that same note, the notion that some environmentalists suggest that natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, i wouldn't be surprised if they even try and put earthquakes on it as well) doesn't add up. Hurricane seasons come and go, there have been many cases of seasons of lots of hurricanes, and our records only go back so far. These seasons have been coming and going since the dawn of humanity, records only go back accurately a hundred years, at best. Ice Caps also do melt naturally as well, the Earth actually once had no ice cap at the north pole. and the Ice Caps are melting. Ice Flows are getting shorter and Polar bears are getting meaner. Global Warming is a Theory, and the only references towards climate effects by atmospheric changes are large volcano eruptions from the past. These go from no effect to Apocalyptic. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toba_catastrophe_theory Global Warming or not, I am still a "Borderline" Environmentalists. I agree that we should be making changes to improve human activity to cause less harm on the environment. We should start phasing out Petrol cars and switching to Electric. Coal and dirty power plants should be replaced with solar, wind, or nuclear alternatives.

Definitely not a black hole. I don't think our sun is big enough for that. But anyway, like Zig, I'm 100% positive that what we as humans are doing to the environment is not healthy for our planet. I'm not saying that I 100% believe there is a strong correlation between pollution and global warming (and the globe is warming), but to say that F'ing up the ozone layer (greenhouse effect anyone?) is in no way related to global warming would be a little preposterous.

Ah something to talk about... Global warming as far as I know is not another name for weather correct me if i'm wrong, but global warming is how we describe the the fact that earth is actually getting warmer faster than it should. the weather is somewhat a result of global warming because of the use of natural gases as well as other natural phenomena. because such natural causes happen in some cases the ocean or other important areas are heated faster than normal resulting in what we call global warming. At least that is what i can recall which is somewhat or maybe completely true.

Global warming is a load of crap made by people who want to convince themselves God didn't make hurricane katrina to destroy their home. The earth has been going from Ice Age to blazing heat since water and clouds formed. For abuot 70 years in medieval times England and the North pole couldn't be told apart! At anytime the Earth's magnetic field could switch and compasses will point south!

I bet that if every factory, power plant, and car stopped running, "weather" wouldn't affect us so much.
It is the direct result of people and companies. Pollution has been proven to and will continue to heat up the earth. And if that doesn't kill us, the pollution itself certainly will.
