I was browsing FB and found www.facebook.com/pages/Runescape-Wilderness-Police-Department#!/pages/Runescape-Wilderness-Police-Department/131395653597781 and thought we could have a similiar, but unique page for our clan. Not many runescape players have forum accounts, and those that do may already belong to a clan, but most people have a FB account. It just seems to me that it could work for the clan.

From what I remember this idea has been tossed around multiple times. But the reason we do not have something like that is simply because some people like to seperate themselves from the game and their personal lives, and feel that being on a page like that would invade in their own lives and could divulge some personal information people do not like to share.

well that is a very good and valid reason. now we need someone w/o a social life to get a FB solely for this reason.

Lots of people use facebook for different reasons. I myself use facebook as much for business networking as I do RL social contacts. As such I keep my facebook page very limited and very professional, mainly because Current and prospective employers can and do often view your facebook....
Trust me... too many people out there do not realize exactly how public their online profiles can be. It is now almost regular practice for a lot of employers to do Google searches, and check major social networks on applicants.
One example I heard of recently. In Israel, Conscription for Military service is mandatory for all adults, but there are various exceptions. One reason for Women to differ service is on Religious grounds. Women claiming to be Orthodox Jews are exempt. Recently several 1000 Israeli Women were charged with Draft Evasion on false claims cause the Government checked their Facebook Pages and discovered very obviously that they were not Orthodox Jews.
Just an example of how social media can come and bite people in the ass. I myself at a Job interview sometime back got asked about my Xbox Live account. Yeah, managed to track that to me cause I used my real name on it.
Hence why I am one of those people who keep my Online and Real life identities separated.
