To be perfectly honest, when forming a guild in SWTOR I was hoping that we were going for some PVP.
Also the other question is Guild membership by the account? or by the character? If the former, yeah, its pretty much going to be choose your allegiance, if the later, then it really doesn't matter how many guilds one is in.

It's by character, so joining multiple guilds isn't a problem.
It would be easy enough to set up a chat channel in-game that people join, so we'd have a common channel to use despite being in different guilds.

ok, so the clan would have a comparable thing to a clan chat in rs?

I like comparing it to IRC, but basically yeah.
I'm happy just so long as I have a way to make fun of Zig for dancing in the cantina for credits while I'm out generally being awesome.

Heh, far too many goons on Veela for me. Although it could be a draw for some I suppose.

dang, everyone seems to be spreading out among the various servers already. I was leaning towards Anchorhead, Belgoth's Beacon, or Black Vulkars myself, more because they are at the top of the list and their names sound cool.
But I am content to whatever server.

Just posting with regards to server crowds and queues
I got on Wound in the force with no Queue
Veela and Anchorhead where back up with 35min estimated waits, The Fatman had an hour wait.
Black Vulcars, Infiniate Empire, and Rakata Mind Prison also have no queues at this time

I've noticed each server has a different name, does that mean the in-game content differs from server to server or no?

well aside from PvP / PvE / RP / RP PvE
PvP is you can duke it out with anyone from the rival faction (Republic vs Sith) anywhere outside of cities, PvE restricts it too certain areas... and RP's are of course everyone going... "Hmmm... I sense a great disturbance in the force" or "IM A JEDII KNIGHTS WIF A LAZERSWORDSZ ZZZFFFFFSTTTTTT ZSSSSFFFTT"
Death penalty though is pretty laughable that its nothing like runescape and the wilderness.
But characters you create are tied to a server, so once you create a character on a server, its there for good, unless they have a transfer mechanism, which I don't know about yet.

Every server is the same, aside from the players on it of course.
Yeah, all my friends decided to roll on The Crucible Pits instead. Both because the name is awesome, and it doesn't have the 1 1/2 hour wait that The Fatman has.

character limit is also supposedly insanely high, from what I've heard 8 max per server and 48 or 64 total...
Creating alts on every server isn't going to be all that hard
