This is another one i've been toying around with, and i think it would be pretty easy to pull off. I obtain a random useless item, use it as a "flag" then we all go to the free for all clan wars arena and play a game of capture the flag/Castle Wars. Each team would have a flag holder, who is the only one on that team who can get the flag from me. Then they have to take it back to their base, to the team leader, and that's how they score points. The most flag captures at the end of 20 minutes wins.

what sort of items would we use as "flags"?

Just random crap so people can't cheat, like an addy2h for instance. Something big and visible, so people know who has the flag.

i thought of something, but its up to you to decide.
how about we use fire staffs and water staffs?
not only is it a stick, but it also has the colors red and blue, the standard team colors.
that way we can see who has the flag in a much more "colorful" detail.

im thinking to elimate any sort of cheating, as ghostly was describing pick a super random item that nobody knows before the event and is obvious at first glance, this would elimate cheating by just bringing your own staffs

While using an item that is easy to spot is a plus, I wouldn't think jumping through these hoops to prohibit cheating is necessary. I believe that the participants would have enough integrity to play by the rules, and if not I am sure someone (be it their team or the opposition) would call them out on it, and any sort of action would then be taken.
This is of course if it is clan members only. If you decide to open this up to the public then certain precautions should be taken.

i agree with your statement eccentric and i trust everyone in this clan, i think its just a question of validity. Cut off as many holes as possible the better it will be
if we can kill two birds with one stone that would be the best solution, something largely variable in colour but not obvious choice for the event

perhaps a random piece of armour highly visible and easy enough to find or make

or just every time it switches hands the person has to call it in the clan chat. Although how exactly are we supposed to switch the flag? You don't drop it when you die and how would you trade it to the person after you die or whatever?

I GOT IT. TEAM CAPES! They're very visible, people can tell who is on what team, and I can use a unique cape as a sort of flag. Who thinks this is a good idea?

Actually ignore my last post, the capes are only for teams, we still don't have a flag >.<

This sounds like it could turn out to be very fun. We could use difernt types of food as flags there is a great variety there.

To answer your question ewoks, a member of the EO would be a ref in the game, and a flag holder. A flag carrier would have to come to me for the flag, but each team can only have 1 or two flag carriers, depending on the size of the team. They in turn would have to take the flag to their team leader. The team leader stays at the base, and is not allowed to be attacked at all. You may attack the member of eo to prevent trades, but you cannot kill them. The member of eo would be using a hypercam to record each match, and team leaders change after matches so nobody remains out of the game for extended periods of time.

As for the flag, I say we use a kite bought from Diango. Reezhyro suggested the idea in cc, and it sort of stuck. It's highly visible and limits the wearer's attack power. If anyone has a better idea, please reply to this post. I'm thinking we could try this on sunday if everyone's in agreement with me
