thread's latest update before reading this!!!
Well, I tried to sleep, and failed misrably-after about an hour I just gave up, did some quick research, and went off to fight my first few Tormented Demons!
And I had a blast! Those things were really fun (for me at least) to fight! I think the main reason is because of the tactics needed. With most rs monsters, espessially on slayer, its basically:
1. pray
2. pot up
3. attack and repeat-90% of the time with melee
However, for Tormented Demons, there are several other things to consider:
1.They have reasonably high max hits (about 269) and have very high accuracy, so prayer is a must. However, they switch attack styles every so often (like Jad, but more forgiving of mistakes), making defensive prayer switching a must when fighting them.
2. They also use protection prayers, and will switch to protect against your combat style every time you deal about 300 damage to them, which makes
offensive weapon/attack style switching a must as well.
3.They have a shield that reduces damage done to them by about 75%, so you have to use Darklight to remove their shield.
4. Since they hit so high so often, you have to make sure that you lure the ones your not fighting so they don't all attack you at the same time.
As you can see, these require a lot more attention then most other monsters to fight, even more then some pther, higher level bosses (ones like General Graardor and the other Gwd bosses, for example).
Finally (though I didn't get any in the short trip I did) they have pretty good drops, which they drop more commonly then drops from GWD (for example); for a long time after they were released, they were the best money making method in the game, and are still fairly decent, even with the massive price drops.
-By the way, dreadnips were useless to me there. Due to the nessesity of hiding behind/between rocks all the time, the dreadnips always got stuck on something. Next time I go, I'm not bringing them. The one in the picture was actually dancing between me and the demon-that's what happens if it DOSN'T get stuck behind a rock.
Well, now I can barely stay awake at all, my eyes are trying to force themselves shut-After I get some sleep, I'll be back to fight some more of these!
